MAYA SILVER NECKLACE after HUBERT HARMON DESIGN
Wonderfully designed hand made necklace by MAYA, Mexico, c.1950's after a Hubert Harmon design. Maya frequently copied Harmon designs. Looks just like silver with a great patina, but probably made of silver plate because there are no Mexican silver marks. The locking mechanism is separated from the main part by black velvet ribbon. Of large scale, the largest irregular square measures 2" wide by 1 3/4" high and the necklace measures 15 1/2" around. The silver connecting rings are soldered closed - which one sees in better jewelry. Very unusual work by MAYA, who traditionally worked in copper and brass. Excellent condition and great looking necklace.......$15 for insured US shipping.
