| Aesthetic movement period mixed metal medallion signed "STERLING 14K K ANCHOR J 2D", c.1870, and resembling the work of George Shiebler. Quite large, it measures 4 1/8" by 2", and is in excellent condition. There is a 14k dimensional medallion profile surrounded by irregularly shaped textured sterling. There are 8 tiny holes around the edge of the item, so that it could be the hammered top of a box, a belt, or a necklace with thin chains attaching all around. It can also be made into a brooch. You can use your imagination.
