MARGOT DE TAXCO ENAMEL SET - MEXICO - 1955
Enamel and sterling matching bracelet, brooch, and necklace by MARGOT DE TAXCO, Mexico, 1955. Black, brown, beige, and white enamel make up the colors of this set. The large scale 6-link bracelet measures 7 1/2" around closed by 1" and has a safety chain. The round brooch measures 1 5/8". The link necklace measures 15" closed around by 3/16th". The brooch can be interchanged and made into a PENDANT NECKLACE and then measures 16" around closed. The bracelet and brooch are each signed "MARGOT DE TAXCO bellmark #16 HECHO EN MEXICO 925S #5710". The enamel is perfect except in two places. The brooch has about a 1" edge of white enamel damage. Also, there is one tiny chip of tan enamel on the necklace next to the clasp. Also, a very interesting drawing of this design by Margot appears on page 171 in MEXICAN SILVER by Berk & Morrill. It has technical data as well as her drawing.....$25 for insured shipping.
