| Rare and glorious earrings by Ed Wiener, c.1968. During this period, Ed wanted a richer color, so increased the carat from 14 to 18 carat. He also started using lost wax techniques for a very rich texture. He had become involved with the beauty of very early gold work of the 8th century, hence changed his body of gold work from his earlier period. These large handmade (pierced) earrings measure almost 2/1/2" long by 1 3/4" wide. Each earring is signed "EW 18K". The texture on the back is smooth and has a sheen.
