large Black Americana folk art 1920's.This doll is a man with a black painted handcarved wood head, feet, and hands. The wonderful face has mustard colored eyes and a red mouth. He is constructed of a heavy wood frame and is clothed in hand stitched shirt, pants, and red scarf. He is quite large and stands 39 inches and his limbs bend( see photo).
