Presented is the larger of the two Fred Davis silver boxes being offered. Classic hand made silver box with onyx Mayan face made by Fred Davis, Mexican designer, c.1930. It is signed "FD" (stylized)and is in excellent condition. It measures 3 1/2" by 2" by 1 3/8" high. The onyx face is enclosed in a silver bezel and has a hinged opening at the back. Extremely rare and large sterling figural pin by Abraham Paz, Mexico c.1930. He designed for Fred Davis, so it is clear that this famous design was created by Paz. Here, we see a variation on a theme, with a man wearing a serape and holding a rope. The signature is RARE showing the Paz mark, which this antique dealer has never seen before. The "WAVY BOW" pin is one of the rarest and LARGEST sterling pins by the famous designer William Spratling, Mexico, c.1940. This glorious HANDMADE` piece of art measures 6 1/2" by 2 7/8" and is signed "SPRATLING SILVER(in oval) WS(in circle-around which says) SPRATLING MADE IN MEXICO". The design is a stylized generous dotted bow looping around with 7 buttercup flowers peeking through the bow. The original geometric Mayan design measures 4" wide and 2 1/4" long and the applied silver provides the exciting foreground against an oxydized background.
